What would it feel like to get married inside a snow globe? In a magical, multimedia winter wonderland? Find out when artist Kris Burns transforms the jewel box chapel at the front of the First Reformed Church of Nyack into a twinkly fairy tale during “Love Week” from February 10 to 17, 2024 as a fundraiser in support of Soup Angels.

These non-denominational ceremonies are fully curated celebrations in a petite package – for up to 10 guests

They are a truly simple way for you and your love to fully enjoy a micro wedding, elopement or vow renewal. All the prep and work has been handled by experts!

The cost is $2,500 of which 50% is tax deductible. Proceeds collected will help support Soup Angels, whose volunteers have been nourishing neighbors in need for over 20 years. These celebrations keep good going!

what to expect: timeline

  • Here is a beautiful and easy way for you and your love to fully enjoy a micro wedding, elopement or vow renewal. All the prep and work has been handled by experts!

  • Once you’re signed up, we’ll be in touch to talk through the details and customize your moment (like the officiant’s words and musician’s song choices, etc.). A coordinator will be on hand to answer any questions in the leadup, send reminders, and guide you through your time at the chapel on the day of.

  • You and your 10 guests *must* arrive on time and no earlier than 15 minutes beforehand. Consider meeting up at Greekish, La Dolce Vita, Broadway Bistro or Olde Village Inne if you want to gather up earlier – they are just a few steps away.

  • Upon entering, you’ll be greeted and given your bouquet/boutonnières. The chapel will be decorated and the bouquets and boutonnières will be made from locally grown hot house anemones and foraged flowers/branches from Bluefield Farm.

  • You’ll have 10 minutes to chat with the officiant, musician and photographer. Feel free to take some pre-ceremony photos!

  • A few minutes before your scheduled ceremony, your guests will be invited into the magical world of the Lovatt Chapel and seated.

  • The ceremony lasts approximately 20 minutes. Remember to bring your rings!

  • If you have brought along a marriage license, the officiant will sign it and make everything official. Click here for NY State info on licenses and for this handy checklist

  • Glasses of champagne or a mocktail will be served to toast the happy couple and all the wonderful adventures that await.

  • Weather permitting, your guests will greet you in the garden outside of the Lovatt Chapel ready to celebrate your union with a confetti pop or sparklers (which we supply)! Our professional photographer will be on hand to capture this moment – and many others all along the way!

Make the Most of Nyack

After the ceremony and toast, everyone can continue celebrating at one of Nyack’s many restaurants, a short stroll away. And be sure to take some photos along the Hudson River or any other beautiful vista!  More: VisitNyack website

WHO: Any couple who would like to celebrate their love in a unique and easy way.

WHAT: Artist Kris Burns is creating a magical, fairy tale setting that is perfect for a Microwedding, Elopement or Vow Renewal. The space is for the two of you and up to 10 guests.

WHAT ELSE: This package includes a charming officiant; gorgeous locally sourced bouquets and boutonnières; professional wedding photography; musical accompaniment; a confetti pop; and champagne toast.

WHERE: The Lovatt Chapel is located in the historic First Reformed Church at 18 South Broadway, Nyack NY.  Please note: these ceremonies are non-denominational, but couples can certainly instruct officiants to include scripture or other spiritual texts that are meaningful to them.

WHEN: February 10, 14 and 17 (Love Week in Nyack!) with four time slots between 4:00 and 8:00 pm.

HOW MUCH: The whole package costs $2,500 – of which 50% is tax deductible. Proceeds collected will help support Soup Angels, whose volunteers have been nourishing neighbors in need for over 20 years. Your celebration keeps good going!

RESERVATION & CANCELLATION:  A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your time. The remainder ($2,000) will be charged on February 7th. If you need to cancel before February 7th, your deposit will simply turn into a donation. For cancellations and no-shows after February 7th, the donated amount will be $2,500. In the case of truly terrible weather, we will make every effort to work with you to reschedule. If that is not possible, the total will be refunded.
